Jessika & Luke

Bridal Preparations

I arrived at Warwick House in Warwickshire in December 2022, ready to capture the beautiful Winter Wedding of Jessika & Luke. I headed to greet Jessika who was having her makeup completed in the Warwick House preparation room by the talented Mili Fox. The room was bright and elegant which was the perfect setting for her bridal preparation images. The sunlight was shining brightly through the windows upon Jessika whilst her finishing touches were taking place. It made the images I captured look so dreamy and romantic.

We headed on over to the bridal suite for Jessika to get into her bridal gown and capture the bridal portraits. The room consisted of a gorgeous 4-poster bed which was the perfect setting to hang the dress. The bridal suite was decorated with a Christmas tree and decor over the fireplace which really made the room feel magical. Her mother helped her into her beautiful satin gown from Lily Rose Bridal Boutique. Jessika looked truly stunning as she nervously waited to head on down to the ceremony room to say I do to Luke.

The Ceremony

The ceremony room was filled with Jessika & Luke’s wedding guests that were there to celebrate their special wedding day. Jessika made her entrance into the room with the bridesmaids leading the way along with her cute family dog who is so special to Jessika and Luke that she had to be a part of their wedding day!

There was such pure joy in Jessikas eyes when she saw luke was just so pure, it is moments like this that make being a wedding photographer one of the best jobs. Jessika & Luke’s wedding ceremony was traditional along with a reading from one of their family members which were very emotional for the couple along with being very comical. The couple ended completed their ceremony by reading out personal vows that they wrote for each other which created a few tears in the room.

Jessika & Luke led their wedding guests out of the room with an explosion of confetti and a bit of fun with a ‘movie kiss’ which I absolutely loved as it made for such fun wedding photographs!

Once the beautiful ceremony had ended we head over to the bar for drinks and mingling which I always insist the couple do before we do the formal and couple portraits. This allows the newly married couple to have time with their loved ones and give out plenty of hugs and enjoy the tasty canapes that Warwick House served.

During the winter I also offer my couples the choice of whether they wish to have their formal image inside or out. Being wintery cold in December we all opted to keep the formals inside in front of the beautiful Christmas tree.

Time for the Wedding Reception

The reception started shortly after the formal photographs where the speeches were given by the best man, father of the bride, groom, maid of honor and also the bride! Speeches are always fun, and capturing these moments in a documentary style without anyone realizing often makes the photographs both funny and emotional. These are lovely to look back on as they are moments the bride and groom often won’t get to see as they are watching the person giving the speech and not looking at anyone else in the room.

After the speeches, the bride and groom along with their wedding guests got to enjoy a beautiful hog roast buffet which tasted absolutely divine!

Warwick House is perfect for the couple’s photos which I created in pitch black with my off-camera flash. There were beautiful hanging lights on the walls which I used as a backdrop for the images which made their wedding photographs look very magical.

Jessika & Luke also opted to have a sparkler exit which is a fun alternative for confetti outdoors but it’s also great for weddings that take place in the winter period and you lose out on light earlier.

Jessika & Luke absolutely rocked their couples portraits. The love they have for one another is beautiful, they make each other smile and you can see their bond greatly within the romantic wedding photographs I captured.

Time to cut the cake!

The time had finally arrived for both of them to cut the cake! The cake was truly beautiful and the most perfect thing was that it was made by the bride’s mother. It’s always great to get to photograph a wedding cake that is different from the last and this one was simply elegant with pearl accents with some donuts on a separate stand with pops of the colour pink.

Time to dance

Jessika had her father-daughter dance and there was not a dry eye in the house. Her mother then joined them both on the dance floor and it was such a beautiful moment that I always love to see at weddings where families get closer than ever.

As always the bride and groom finally take the floor to kick off an amazing evening reception party. Jessika & Luke had amazingly been taking dance lessons for months to be able to have a routine to show their loved ones. They were both absolutely incredible and it was of the most memorable first dances I have ever captured. I strongly advise all my couples to do this as their first dance photographs are immense!
