Oak Farm Hotel, Cannock

Amanda & Robert

Oak Farm Hotel is the perfect venue for weddings, located on the edge of Cannock Chase in the beautiful Staffordshire countryside.

Amanda and Robert’s day began with bridal preparations taking place in a petite stunningly decorated room full of wooden beams giving the touch of the room some traditional touch.

Amanda was surrounded by her mother and the main ladies in her family as she got ready to say I do to her husband to be Robert. Her makeup was pristine and subtle which paired beautifully with her hair styled to perfection. It was time to get into her dress from Kiss xx Bridal in Litchfield and the dress truly did wow all of us as Amanda’s mother lovingly assisted her daughter into her gown.

The time had arrived to make her way down to the glorious ceremony room to meet her future husband at the end of the aisle. Amanda accompanied by her dad walked down the aisle smiles shining brightly to see her fiancé dressed so smartly awaiting her arrival so nervously.

The love and laughter echoed in the room as the couple read out their vows. It was such a delight to see how happy they both were and how Amanda’s smile lit up every time she looked over at Robert.

The ceremony continued after the bride and groom got disturbed by a wasp which made the laughter in the room spread. Luckily it vanished with the ceremony coming to a close with a kiss.

It was a glorious wedding day at the Oak Farm Hotel, the sun was shining as the canapés of mini fish and chips were served with everyone preparing to get photo-ready for the family formals!

It was such a breeze to capture with the formals being minimal and quick which is a dream being a photographer when traditional photography such as this section of the day is completed in such good time.

I absolutely love it when my couples tell me that they have a confetti shot planned, I get them to usually walk right through their guests whilst they get showered with confetti and it makes for epic photos with so much fun as you can tell by their faces.

Now to my favourite part of the day! My wedding portraits which is just the bride and groom and we head off around the wedding venue grounds to take some fun, romantic photographs which are the special images that my couples love to hang on their walls. The venue grounds are filled with gorgeous areas to walk and capture natural wedding photographs of your bride and groom sharing special moments together. Throughout the portraits within the day we spotted a rainbow but unfortunately by the time we hurried outside it had vanished so I added a little magic to the photo and created a rainbow to compliment such a special day!

The wedding day continued with beautiful food by the Oak Farm Hotel, full bellies all around with the speeches commencing where Robert made a speech to his wife and wedding guests. The reception certainly was so high in emotion, all their guests were enjoying such a fun and relaxed wedding. Guests were out enjoying the weather as well as mingling in the stunningly dressed reception room at Oak Farm Hotel.

It is always such great fun when games are involved at weddings when it hits party time and this game was ‘Mr & Mrs’. The best man had the mic and was reading out random questions for the bride and groom who each had one shoe from their feet and the opposite person’s foot so it would either be a Mrs or Mr (a man’s shoe or women’s shoe) and wow the games hilarious, all of the guests were laughing and cheering on the bride and groom as they had a fun game!

It was finally time to begin the emotional time of the night which included the cake cutting and the first dance, our beautiful bride also chose to dance with her dad as many brides do and there is never often a dry eye in the building. The dancing is such a special moment some dances are slow romantic or upbeat and fast-paced. However, whatever the type of couple you are the dancing will be perfect. Amanda and Robert were such a perfect couple and truly showed the love between them on their day as well as playing each other up. Truly best friends as well and soul mates.
